As you may be aware, with the rapidly growing concerns over COVID-19, Ontario County has declared a State of Emergency and the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District (Midlakes Schools) has closed until further notice. In consultation with the Pioneer Library System, the Board of Trustees has decided to close the Clifton Springs Library beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice.
Delivery of materials including holds has been suspended and all programming is canceled. During this time, outside groups will not have access to our Meeting Room. Additionally, our outside drop box will be closed and we ask that you keep your library materials at home. Any fines accrued during this time will be waived.
The health and safety of our staff and library community is a top priority, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this. As this is a frequently changing situation, we will keep the community posted of any additional updates on our Facebook page and website. If you would like to contact us, please email us at email@example.com .
During our closure, join Miss Becky online for some epic Children’s Programming! Be sure to subscribe to her YouTube channel so you don’t miss a single program. Miss Becky and the Clifton Springs Library staff really miss our friends and can’t wait until we can all be together at the library again!
Exciting news! Ancestry.com is FREE for you to use from home when the library is closed! Here is a link with step-by-step instructions on how to access this amazing resource from your own computer:

The Clifton Springs Library is proud to announce that it has been named a 2019 three-Star Library by Library Journal. This is the second year the Clifton Springs Library has received this honor in the twelve years that Library Journal has published the index. The Clifton Springs Library first received this distinction in 2018.
For 2019, the index evaluated 6,333 public libraries across the country with 261 being named Star Libraries. The index groups libraries with similar operating budgets and populations and then compares the libraries based on six service outputs: physical item circulation, electronic circulation, number of visits, program attendance, public computer use, and WiFi sessions.
The recognition as a Star Library is truly a credit to the Clifton Springs community who deeply values its library. The library’s Board of Trustees, Director, and staff are grateful for your ongoing support. Thank you!
